WATER workshop! on 22032010

This is my group's work :)
-----------------------------------------

First, we sketch the ideas together and fold the box to make a mock up.

Then we tried to see the movement of the water from the mock up above and it's WORK!

Later, we found that the paper is too thin and its can't hold he water as long as we need.

So, we add more paper at the bottom, but it's not strong enough. The paper was too weak.

Then we decided to use another kind of paper which is thicker and stronger.

We need to do the big one to hold all of the water there so the water won't go out of the area.

Here was the final one, it works very well thought. :)

ICE workshop! on 18032010

My Experiment :)
IT'S STRATING BY THIS BOWL :)
-----------------------------------------

I tried to stick it together by the nitto tape but it didn't work!

So, later, I tried to stick it together by itself! It's work! ;)

I tried to make it taller by putting two sizes of the ice together.

Like one, you can't see the smaller one and another one, you can see the smaller one.

This is what it be when time passes.

It looks really nice! I'm so exited!

The thinnest one. Later, it was broken down. :(

This was what it left behind.

The ice n water experiment essay!

The new brief of Design II course is about the transformation of water and ice. The first thing that I did was searching through the internet about the ice and the water and also searches about the transformer of them. Then I found many ways that people play with it and I got many ideas to do with the ice and also the water.

The first idea was about to make the ice ice-cream. According to myself that I love to eat ice-cream so, I think of the easiest ways to make an ice-cream by myself. The method is to make normal water transform to an ice. You can make it by using any kind of water you want and then freeze it for 4 hours or more over a night. After a few hours, you will have an ice ice-cream serving by yourself at home. I think this is one of the best experiment with transformer water into ice because later the experiment, you can also eating your out come.

In April 2009, I had an opportunity to go to South Korea and there’s a place called “Ice Bar Sub-Zero” in Seoul. When I came into the bar, they had a welcome drink for me and it was contain by an ice-glass so, this thing inspired me to do this another experiment about ice and water. I did the ice-glass by freezing the water for almost 4 hours (It’s up to your glass size anyway.) to let it freeze. Later 4 times freezing the water, my ice-glass finally came out!

My third experiment is about to look at the ice when it get into a hot pan. First, I put the ice into many point of the hot pan to look at it that it’s split out or not but the result was it can combine itself together very fast and when the small dots of ice transform into water, its getting bigger together. Later they ran into each other, it’s like they are dancing and having fun in the hot pan!

When you look into the ice, you will notice that the color of the ice is not transparent at all. So, I did a research about how to make it clear and transparent. This is another experiment for me. The thing that make the ice is not clear is the water’s air and quality. To make it more like crystal clear is to double boiled water before you put the water into a freezer. I did it by using a stove and a microwave. I did twice, boiling the water and let it cool into a room temperature. The result of this experiment was I can use both stove and microwave to make a crystal clear ice and the color of the ice was really transparent.

Another experiment came out by using the ice from other experiment that doesn't work to make like a little ice sculpture. I put a piece of unclear ice into a saucer that has water and put it into a freezer so that it will fix into where it was. Then I put the clear one which got from the dissolve ice from a cup into it. The out come of my little ice sculpture doesn’t look good as my inspiration but I think it was another thing that experiences me because the weather makes the ice dissolve very fast and I have to fight for it to do my little ice sculpture!

ICE n WATER experiment!

My Ice - Ice Cream! :)

According to myself that I'm an ice-cream lover. When I think of the transformation from water to ice, I think of an ice-cream. The water that you add into a container will transform into an ice in about 4hours or more. And that's it, the ice - ice cream by yourself at home.

my ice - ice cream maker! my lover! ;*
-----------------------------------------

My Ice Glass :)

I pour a water into glass and put it into a freezer. The out come of the freezing water that I want is to make it like a glass. My experience from ice-bar sub zero in Seoul inspired me. It took almost 4 hours to be like this!

-----------------------------------------

My Water Dance :)

I just putting an ice into many point in the hot pan. As you can see in the VDO above, it can combine itself together and when the small dots of ice transform into water, then its getting bigger. They ran into each other like they are dancing and having fun in the hot pan!

-----------------------------------------

My Crystal Clear Ice!

These two ices are different! According to its transparent color. The left one is cleaner than the right one. To make it more like crystal clear ice is to double boiled water before you put the water into a freezer!

-----------------------------------------

My Little Ice Sculpture

It came out by using the ice from other experiment that doesn't work. I put a piece of unclear ice into a saucer that has water and put it into a freezer. The clear one is from the dissolve of the ice from a cup.

Another experiment

Another experiment that I did was to freeze the water by using the aluminum foil as its container. The result came out was not good because the ice and the aluminum foil were stuck together.

-----------------------------------------

The Ice Layer
By putting the ice once at the time, waiting until it freeze then repeat it again and again :)

Another water tips :)
